Eric Miyashiro (English: Eric Miyashiro, July 13, 1963 -) is a trumpet (flugelhorn) player born in Hawaii, USA. He is also known as a high note hitter (playing exceptionally high pitch accurately).
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father is also a professional trumpeter. Starting to play instruments from elementary school, Eric's pro debut was at junior high school. He played in orchestra and concerto, and when he was in high school third grade, he played with Maynard Ferguson at Carnegie Hall as representative of Hawaii of the National High School All Star Band. After graduating from high school, Eric entered Berklee College of Music and started working as a studio musician from his school.
In 1989, he came to Japan and worked as a studio musician, such as recording soundtracks and pop music, while in 1995 he gathered leading Japanese musicians and formed his own big band "EM band". They held a concert in Japan and released the first album "Kick Up" in 2000.

The "French Bead" bell rim material allows for enhanced feedback to the player. The thinner bell with wider diameter creates a quicker response and powerful sound. Side-seam production enables the instrument to have more open vibrations. The top and bottom piston caps and piston stems are made of brass. All three finger hooks are O-shaped rings for better stability, and tonal quality. The light weight, hollow 3 slide stopper screw is designed to allow for a more free-blowing instrument. This trumpet comes with a gorgeous backpack style case that will also hold a flugelhorn as well as a custom Eric Miyashiro Yamaha trumpet mouthpiece. (The webmaster received one of these on my 46th birthday and I absolutely love this trumpet. The YTR 8340EM Professional Model Bb Yamaha Trumpet plays very free in all registers, slotting is excellent and the trumpet looks absolutely stunning.)
