Katsuhiro Ida was born in Tottori prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University Music Department. Since 2003 he has worked as a production assistant for opera organizations in Japan and has been a assistant to Seiji Ozawa and Zubin Meter at Milan Scala, Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Tokyo's opera forest, and others. In 2004, he participated as a deputy conductor in the 400th anniversary of the Edo-ken Foundation Tokyo in Bunka Kaikan Project "Asakusa Tenshi".
In 2007, he played a major role the Tokyo Ballet Company including the correction of the score as a conductor assistant for the first performance in Japan. In November 2007, after debut at the K Ballet Company with "Shiratori no Lake" performance, he directed numerous performances of K Ballet. In April 2009, his CD "Tetsuya Kumagawa's Nutcracker" released. He has performed with Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Japan Century Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, Kyushu Symphony Orchestra and others.
He also belongs to the ballet team co-starring with K Ballet Company, Tokyo Ballet Company, New National Theater Ballet Company, Tokyo City Ballet Company, Tani Moko Ballet Company, Vienna National Ballet Company, Russian National Moscow Classical Ballet Company, and others.
In April 2018, he directed NHK 'Ballet Feast' and gained popularity.
In music production, he is in charge of arranging for K Ballet Youth 'Adventures of Tom Soya', K Ballet Company 'Carmen' and 'Cleopatra'.
In addition, he teaches numerous orchestras and choirs including amateurs.
Currently, he is theater orchestra Tokyo conductor, Elisabeth University of Music Lecturer, Professor at Toho Gakuen University
