Akimoto Yasuomi was born in Kanagawa Prefecture

Began practicing ballet at the age of 3. In 2000, he went to Bolshoi and Ballet School at the age of 12. He graduated from the school at the age of 18 in 2006. Finalist at the Moscow International Ballet Competition 2005, No. 3 in the Tanzuorimpu in 2006. Won the silver prize at the Perm International Ballet Competition "Arabesque". In the summer of age 15, he joined the Tokyo Ballet Company as a principal.
