Seiichi Shinohara is a director of the Japan Ballet Association
He was born in Sapporo city and began ballet from 3 years old.
In 1978, he won the New Japan Prize for Performing held by the Japan Ballet Association.
1978 - Studied abroad in Monaco, he was also active as a guest dancer at Nancy Ballet, France
He returned to Japan in 1979
1997 he trained at the San Francisco Ballet Company and the Netherlands Dance Theater.
2002 he was awarded the 28th Tachibana Akiko Prize and Excellence Award.
2006 he got Cultural Agency Art Festival Grand prize.
2007Received the Excellence Leader Award from the 2007 National Dance Competition.
Awarded the 35th Tachibana Akiko Prize / Special Award 2009
2017 he received Heisei era Suzuko Memorial Contemporary Dance Festival Award (in the joint work of the Hokkaido branch "When the snow melts and spring comes soon"
In recent years, he has served as a competition judge, as well as numerous artistic directors, and presents classical ballet as a director/choreographer.
