Melt-Banana is a Japanese rock band that is known for playing extremely fast grindcore and noise music mixed with experimental, electronica and pop-based song structures. Since forming in 1992 the band has released ten albums and toured worldwide extensively.
In 1991, YAKO started the band, and AGATA joined.
On April 1st in 1993, the band was named MELT-BANANA.
In May 1993, Melt-Banana played a show opening for KK Null of Zeni Geva fame, who was impressed enough to immediately offer them a deal with his label, and would later introduce them to Mark Fischer of Skin Graft Records and Steve Albini. In 1996, the band completed their first European tour.
In 1997, they created their own recording company, A-Zap (formerly Iguana Coax), and re-issued most of their early albums. Around this time, drummer Sudoh Toshiaki quit. Oshima Watchman became the new official drummer in February 1998.
In 2007 Melt-Banana recorded the song Hair-Cat (Cause the Wolf Is a Cat!) for Perfect Hair Forever on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup.
The studio album Fetch, released in September 2013, saw the band transition to a duo format. They decided to use a computer for the rhythm allowed more freedom in arrangement. Additionally, throughout the band's career Agata and Yasuko had been the main songwriters.
Napalm Death are a British extreme metal band formed in Meriden, West Midlands, England, in 1981. While none of its original members remain in the group since December 1986, the lineup of vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway, bassist Shane Embury, guitarist Mitch Harris and drummer Danny Herrera has remained consistent of the band's career since 1992's Utopia Banished, although, from 1989 to 2004, Napalm Death were a five-piece band after they added Jesse Pintado as the replacement of one-time guitarist Bill Steer; following Pintado's departure, the band reverted to a four-piece rather than replace him.
The band is credited as pioneers of the grindcore genre by incorporating elements of crust punk and death metal, using a noise-filled sound that uses heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdrive bass, high speed tempo, blast beats, and vocals which consist of incomprehensible growls, or high-pitched shrieks, extremely short songs, fast tempos, and sociopolitical lyrics. The band's debut album Scum, released in 1987 by Earache Records, proved substantially influential throughout the global metal community. According to the Guinness World Records, their song "You Suffer" is the shortest song in the world, at only 1.316 seconds long.
Napalm Death have released sixteen studio albums, and are listed by Nielsen SoundScan as the seventh best-selling death metal band in the United States.
Napalm Death were formed in the village of Meriden near Coventry, in the United Kingdom, in May 1981 by Nic Bullen and Miles Ratledge while the duo were still in their early teenage years. The duo had been playing in amateur bands since 1980 as an extension of their fanzine writing, and went through a number of names (including "Civil Defence", "The Mess", "Evasion", "Undead Hatred" and "Sonic Noise") before choosing Napalm Death in mid 1981. The band were initially inspired by the early wave of punk bands, particularly the anarcho-punk movement (a subgenre of punk music focused on anarchist politics), and associated groups such as Crass.
Gyze ( , stylized as GYZE) is a metal band originated in Hokkaido, Japan. Coming from the very north of Japan, the members of the band label themselves as "Northern Nostalgic Metal band".
The metal trio consists of Ryoji Shinomoto (guitar/vocals/composer), Shuji Shinomoto (drums) and Aruta Watanabe (bass/vocals). They have released three full format albums and two limited edition EP so far.
In May 2009 in Sapporo, Japan, two brothers—Ryoji and Shuji Shinomoto—formed the first incarnation of GYZE. Initially called Suicide Heaven, after Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami disaster of 2011 the band was renamed to GYZE. Aruta was invited as a session bassist in 2013 and joined the band before their major debut with Victor Entertainment in autumn 2014.
In 2012, GYZE advanced through the Metal Battle Japan event for the chance to play at one of the biggest metal festivals in the world, Wacken Open Air.
Their music is characterized by fast-paced drums, easy to sing along lyrical guitar melodies with a bit of folk motifs, technical shredding, extreme growling vocals as well as by different traditional and classical instruments used in their recordings. Additionally, the band has put the recordings of their fans singing the choruses on some songs on the album Northern Hell Song (2017).
In 2013, GYZE met Ettore Rigotti, a member of the Italian band Disarmonia Mundi, and started working together on GYZE's first full-format album. In June of that year, GYZE's debut album Fascinating Violence was released worldwide by Coroner Records, an Italian label owned and run by Ettore Rigotti.
Immediately following its release, Fascinating Violence took the number one spot on Amazon's Hard Rock/Heavy Metal charts and held the position for 3 months (July – September 2013), and was a hot topic in Burrn! magazine's foreign record charts in its October 2013 issue.
After their first foreign show held in Korea, GYZE made their Japanese debut in September 2014 with JVC (Victor Entertainment). At the same time, contracts were signed with Evolution Music (Republic of Korea) and Magnum (Taiwan) to launch their Asian debut.
Track spikes, or just spikes, are racing shoes used by athletes when racing on the track. Some spikes are designed for longer-term training on tracks, but generally the shoes are used for racing. The term "spikes" can also refer to track shoes featuring such protrusions, though these are technically called pins. Spikes are similar to studs, which are used for team sports, although generally smaller and with a sharp point.
No More Pain is an independent American progressive metal band from central New Jersey. Formed in 2008, the band has released two full lengths albums and two EPs.
No More Pain formed in 2008 when guitarist/singer Mike Roman and drummer/singer Ryan Sullivan disbanded their previous metalcore band Ministry of Pain and began working on more radio friendly material. Influences of progressive rock crept in, and soon they recruited bassist Jay Weinstein. In 2009 they recorded a self-titled demo, and shortly after added keyboardist Matt McDermott. Wanting to place Sullivan as the front man, drummer Dan Rainone joined in early 2010, and shortly after Mike Santini was added as a second guitarist.
The six-member lineup soon went into the studio to record 2011's Debate and Rhyme. While in the studio, Sullivan and Santini left the band, and Roman took over lead vocal duties and Dan's brother Mike Rainone joined as second guitarist/vocalist. but left in early 2012. Weinstein left the band in early 2013 and was replaced by John Moroney.
The now four-member lineup went into the studio in early 2014 to record 2015's The Post Human Condition. The album brought them enough attention to get the on the lineup of Rites of Spring festival in 2016. The album was also released in Japan after signing with the record label Marquee Inc.
In 2016 they released The Spader EP, which was in dedication to one Indiegogo supporter for The Post Human Condition. In 2017 they released the Live EP, which features a 2014 show and a new studio track.
The band has shared the stage with such artists as King's X, Spock's Beard, Psychostick, Fuel, Stick Men, Scale the Summit, Next to None, Monster Magnet, Thank You Scientist, Stu Hamm,Jon Herington, and Angel Vivaldi
They were nominated for several Asbury Music Awards in 2015 and 2016, and are frequent headliners at the Local Legends Festival in New Jersey.
