Ishibashi Eiko × Mum and Gipsy presents Takahiro Fujita's "The Dream My Bones Dream"
Mum and gypsy was founded in 2007 as a theatrical organization that Takahiro Fujita works as a screenplay and director for all works. Flag in the same year "Soup withered". Takahiro Fujita was born in Hokkaido in 1985. Started at a local theater as an actor from 10 years old. He studied at Obirin University where Oriza Hirata taught, and started working for him as a director’ s assistant. In 2007, he established mum&gypsy while being a student of the Obirin University and started his career as playwright and director for all mum&gypsy production. His early production was based on his memory as a teenager about motif such as sea, town, girl, mother and death.
His unique method to show the same scene in different angle for the audience like a movie scene became acquired in theater later. His had incorporated refrain technique which has been used in music scene for long time to his theater which later became his great feature of his theater. His other unique feature of his creation style is that he does not write and give the text to the actors and he directly gives lines to the actors during the rehearsal.
In 2011, he won the 56th Kishida Award by “Home, Waiting Dining Table, A World of Falling Salt” only the age of 26th. He collaborated with variety of artists and various age of actors. In 2016, he wrote “Nina’ s Cotton” which was about the life of director, Yukio Ninagawa, and was planning to have production one for each together, but it never happened due to Ninagawa’ s death. He directed classic theater such as “Romeo and Juliette” which story develops un-clockwise, complicated way of stage set disposition and main characters were all played by women actresses. In July in 2018, his newest production “BOAT” was performed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre which is more than 800 seats. Works other than theater, he has contributed in many ways such as Fashion show, music live direction, essay, manga co-production.
