Man with a Mission, stylized as MAN WITH A MISSION or sometimes as MWAM is a Japanese rock band which was formed in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan in 2010. This band currently consists five band members, with stage names of Tokyo Tanaka (vocals, leader), Jean-Ken Johnny (guitar, vocals, rap), Kamikaze Boy (bass guitar, backing vocals), DJ Santa Monica (DJ, sampling) and Spear Rib (drums).
This band has been playing hard rock and dance-pop as their music. Their distinguishing feature is that all of the members wear differently designed wolf masks during both their concerts and their music videos.
Before becoming popular, the band invented a back-story for why they wear wolf masks, which involves them being created as the "Ultimate Life Form" by Jimi Hendrix, who is described by the band as being the doctor of the guitar and master wolf biologist. They were then frozen in Antarctica for years. While they were frozen, they had been listening to all kinds of music from all around the world, before later escaping and emerging onto the Japanese music scene.
Coldrain (コールドレイン , Kōrudorein, stylized as coldrain) is a Japanese metalcore band from Nagoya, formed in 2007. The band mixes melodic singing with screams typical of the post-hardcore genre. Although the band is Japanese, all their songs are written in English. Masato (lead vocals), has a Japanese father and an American mother and speaks both Japanese and English. After the first two albums, Final Destination and The Enemy Inside, which were only released in Japan, the group made its worldwide debut in 2014 with the album The Revelation, released by Hopeless Records and Sony.
After the disbanding of the bands Wheel of Life (RxYxO, Sugi and Y.K.C.) and AVER (Masato and Katsuma), coldrain was formed in 2007 in Nagoya with Masato on vocals, RxYxO (Ryo) on bass guitar, Katsuma on drums, and Y.K.C (Yokochi) and Sugi on guitars. The common musical interest of the members was one of the decisive factors for the forming of coldrain. Once when AVER and Wheel of Life first co-debuted on stage, and AVER heard Sevendust's song played during Wheel of Life's rehearsal, an excited Katsuma asked RxYxO, "Don't tell me you're a fan of Sevendust as well!?" Thereafter, each time they interacted, they wanted to form a new band together. RxYxO was originally doing the vocals, but turned bassist because of coldrain. The band gained their first followers from performing as a local band in their home-town while distributing demo discs after each performance.
About a year after coldrain formed, they were offered and later signed a major contract with VAP, after which the band released its debut maxi single "Fiction" on 5 November 2008. They then set off for their first nationwide tour and played in 30 venues across Japan.
After the tour, the group released their next maxi single: "8AM". The limited edition included a DVD which featured the music video of the title song and three live videos: "Fiction", "Painting", and "Come Awake". "8AM" was also used as a theme song to the anime series Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger. In 2009, saw their first performance at the Summer Sonic Festival 2009. In October, they released their first album Final Destination and embarked on another successful sold-out nationwide tour.
Don Broco are a British rock band formed in Bedford, England in 2008. The band consists of Rob Damiani (lead vocals and electronics), Simon Delaney (guitar), Tom Doyle (bass) and Matt Donnelly (drums and vocals). The band's debut album Priorities was released on 13 August 2012, followed up by Automatic on 7 August 2015. Their latest album, Technology, was released on 2 February 2018.
The band's origins go back to before their university years during secondary school, attending Bedford Modern School, where they played their first gigs, but it was not until after studying at Nottingham University that they decided to become a band.
The band initially took on many different names, including "Club Sex". One of the group's ideas was "Don Loco", which was changed to Don Broco following guitarist Simon Delaney breaking his wrist in a football accident.
They first toured the country in November 2008, playing gigs in places such as Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Swindon and Watford, amongst others.
They appeared at Camden Crawl and Download Festival in 2009, as well as supporting Enter Shikari on a short run of shows in May 2009.
Don Broco also played Underage Festival, at Victoria Park in London, UK, in both 2009 and 2010. They played Sonisphere festival 2010 on the Red Bull Bedroom Jam stage. The band then went on to support Enter Shikari at both their Christmas parties at Hatfield Forum in December 2010. In September 2010 Don Broco also played in a local festival called Amersham Summer Festival.
In 2016 Don Broco appeared as a support act for rock band Bring Me The Horizon on their UK tour, playing Arenas such as the London O2 Arena.
In 2018, Don Broco was one of the support bands for Our Last Night's North American and European tour.
Big Fat Smile was produced and engineered by Matt O'Grady and mixed by John Mitchell.
