The New National Theater Ballet Company, together with the New National Theater, was founded in 1997 under the artistic director Shimada Hiroshi.
It has a wide repertory ranging from classical works including "Swan Lake" to 20th-century masterpieces by Ashton, Balansin and other choreographers, as well as works by contemporary choreographers such as Aifman, Duato and Serp.
