Kazuhiko Ishii was born in 1953 in Iwakuni Yamaguchi Pre. His ancestor are in Fukuoka Pre.
His uncle was chef Contrabass Player of New Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo and Shinkyo Symphony Orchestra in Manchuria until 1945.
In 1975, he graduated from The Tokyo College of Music(Bachelor of Arts), where he majored in Horn under Prof.K.Sono, Prof.M.Yasuhara, and Prof.M.Umeda,and studied Conducting under Prof.K.Kobayashi, Piano under Prof.H.Nomoto,Violin under Mari Yamamoto.
From 1977 to 80,he studied perfomance interpretation under Prof.S.Ono.
From 1989 to 91,he studied Musicologies at Vienna University. In 1986,he studied conducting under Prof.J.Karmar in a Vienna Master Course. From 1981 to 88 he studied conducting under Prof.Y.Shiozawa,and from 1984 to 88,underProf. H.Kuroiwa
From 1990 to 91 and 1996 to 97 he studied conducting of Operettea under Pro. Rudolf Bibl in Vienna.
