Watanabe Mamoru was born in 1963 in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
In 1983, he formed the rock band "Great Riches", released two singles from the independent label Nagum Records, and one album from the Captain Records.
In 1989, he signed with King Records and made a major debut, released three albums and two singles.

Later, he formed "MAMORU & THE DAViES" through several sessions including Tomo Husky (The Pease), the unit "MT Happiness" (The pillows) with support of bassist Tomovsky. From the 1st CD "Let's imagine" from Loft Record in October 1997, the 2nd "R & R HERO" was also announced in November, 1998.

They announced the eleventh album "MUDDY WATER" commemorating the birth 50th anniversary on December, 2013. In August, 2015, he released his self-cover collection "SWiNGiNG ROCK'N ROLL".

From July 2016, Seiji Fukushima who joined in Greit Riches as a bassist (THE FOOLS, birth defect).
The new work"3 Girls" also announced on March, 2017.
