Masaki Tanokura (born in 1976) is a Tokyo-born violinist.
He began playing the violin with Suzuki from the age of 4. Then he proceeded to elementary and junior high school in Shinagawa Ward, in 1988, he received the Encouragement Prize at the 42nd All-Japan Student Music Competition Tokyo Competition elementary school students 'section, 1991, the 1st place in the 45th Competition Tokyo Competition Tokyo Junior High School student' s section. In the same year, he participated in the 5th Nagano Aspen music festival.

In 1992, he entered Tokyo High School attached to Tokyo University of the Arts and participated in the Aspen Music Festival, the 1st Moscow Conservatoria Master Course in Japan. In 1995 he entered Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and won the second prize at the 64th Japan Music Competition. In 1997, he studied at the Juilliard School of Music and studied under Dorothy Delay, Cholyan Lin and Masao Kawasaki. In the same year, he participated in the Aspen Music Festival and in 1998 he won the Aspen Concertant Competition in 1998. After that, he became an overseas trainee for Agency for Cultural Affairs Dispatching in 2000 and graduated from the same academy in May 2002 with a bachelor's degree from the Juilliard School of Music.
