Akira Jimbo is a Japanese drummer.
He is from Tokyo. Blood type is type A. In 1980, when he was 20 years old at Keio University, he joined the cassiopeia of the fusion band and professional debut. Since then, not only domestic and international listeners, amateur drummer but also professional drummer is always attracting attention, "News Week" magazine released on October 10, 2007 (October 17 issue) in "100 Japanese respected in the world" has been elected.

Even though there are many sounds, it made he think that the technical drum performance that clearly heard one sound is made to make it seem that it is not hit by alone, so from the thousand hands-on sounds he also touched it, "Ten Kannon" (nominee Was also a member of the same Cassiopeia at that time Mr. Mukai Taniya) was also nicknamed. Although it was a half way subscription to Cassiopeia who had already debuted, the musicality of Cassiopeia and Jimbo coincided. Both of them got high praise from home and abroad, and in the 1980's when Jimbo went through, Cassiopeia built a golden age. With the bassist Takao Sakurai who was the same member in 1990, he withdrew from Cassiopeia, and they formed a drum & base unit, Jin Sak. After solving the unit in 1998, he began to move out as a solo artist and has been doing a wide range of activities.

Since debuting he has been using Yamaha's drums consistently and a number of signature models have been made. Since he was involved in the development as a demonstrator of the Yamaha electric drum since he was in Cassiopeia in the 1980s, he used the MIDI drum trigger system that system was applied in the early 1990's to create a melody & base part of the song and a raw drum We created a solo performance of multiple playing which we do at the same time at the same time. Its solo performance was named as a one-man orchestra by Jimbo himself and gained attention from various fields. In the 2000s, it came to be recognized from other than conventional music fans. And it has become the center of activities in recent years, it is held around 80 in Japan annually and in many places abroad. Also, since he can also work and arrange, he is constantly making an album of solo name every year.
