Akira Yamaguchi is a Japanese painter, contemporary artist.
Born in Tokyo in 1969. He grow up in Kiryu City, Gumma Prefecture. Graduated from Gunma prefecture Kiryu Senior High School. He graduated from the Department of Painting, Department of Painting, Tokyo University of the Arts in 1994 after graduating from the private art university in a year, and graduated from the Department of Painting, Oil Painting (Graduate School of Art, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts, 1996). In 1997, Makoto Aida invited me to participate in the "Kotatsu" exhibition. In 2001 Taro Okamoto Memorial Contemporary Art Grand Prize Excellence Award was awarded. In 2013 he won the 12th Kobayashi Hideo Award for "Hen Japanese Art History".It is known for the style of drawing drawings of people and buildings with extremely precise touch with touch like Yamato and Ukiyo-e. Many works are painted with free humorous ideas, such as placing samurai on a horse-type bike or placing a roof tile on a modern skyscraper. Works on books as well as original posters of advertisement posters, works are set up as public art in the departure lobby of Narita airport. In 2012 the fusuma painting was dedicated to Norinobu Seinin in Byodo-in.
