Akikawa Masafumi ( born on October 11, 1967 ) is a Japanese male singer with a high voice. While making full use of the experience in learning classical vocal, he currently works mainly in the field of classical music.
He comes from Saijo city, Ehime prefecture. Height 175 cm. Blood type is type A. His father is a vocalist Norihiro Akikawa.
Began to learn violin and piano from the age of 4 in Saijo City Saijo South Junior High School. When he was in 3rd grade, he turned to vocal music under the guidance of his father. After graduating from Ehime Prefectural Komatsu High School, he attended the National Music College, then he had 4 year-training program at Parma in Italy. After returning home, he appeared in numerous concerts including Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. In 1998 he won the first prize at the Canzone Competition and the Japan Classical Music Competition Vocal Music Division respectively.
He has his CD debut as a tenor singer from Nippon Columbia in 2001.
