Yuji Hasegawa is a Japanese guitarist, singer, music lecturer and instructor. He was born in Tokyo in 1964 and grew up in Kamakura. He studied under Shogo Sawada, a jazz guitarist in 1982. In 1985, after participating in the Jazz Chorus Group "Crest For Singers", he started to work as a professional. As a solo artist, he has released 4 albums and 1 single song to date. The 2nd album "Utamachiism" released in 2001 was especially acclaimed in many music critic magazines.
He took part in many events such as the NHK Studio Park event, Tokyo Metropolitan Water supply Day Concert, a barrier-free concert combining sign language and music. Also, the health magazine "Yuhobika" that comes with a CD "Reset Music" appeared in 2005 is a work born from collaboration with doctors and a solo guitar performance collection based on music therapy as a concept.
Yuji Hasegawa also has a reputation as a music lecturer & instructor, working on a number of guitar instruction videos and DVDs.
He is trusted by many famous artists in Japan as a precious player that can support even one acoustic guitar. We can listen to his guitar sound in a variety of music scenes such as Kenji Sawada, Masaki Kyomoto, SMAP, Ayumi Ishida, Chiemi Hori, Ryoko Shinohara and a lot more. He keeps appealing his guitar play to his fans by appearing in Fuji TV program "Hit Song Makers / Kyohei Tsutsumi Special", Cultural Broadcasting Commemorative Drama "Kaen Daiko (Fire drum)", joining as guitarist for insertion song for CX drama "Botan to Bara (Peony and Rose)", and CD "super.modern.artistic.performance / SMAP" and so on.
