"Dedication, Night Sakura (cherry blossoms) Noh" is a Noh/ Kyogen show performed at Yasukuni Shrine Noh Theater which is the oldest Noh theater in Tokyo. It's held in the early April every year for 3 days and it still happens even if it rains (when the weather is bad, the venue will be changed to another theater such as Tokyo Metropolitan Hibiya Public Hall). There is a rigorous burning ceremony that people called fire magistrates carrying a torch with fire and fire firewood on both sides of the stage in the beginning of every show. The fire was split from the Yasukuni Shrine's God fire.
The dedication at Yasukuni Shrine provides amazing experience to watch Noh with beautiful view of cherry blossom illuminated by the fire. Popular and elegant Noh/ Kyogen acts are selected and performed by the best Noh/ Kyogen actors. You can see this luxury and gorgeous performance only at the dedication at Yasukuni Shrine.
"Dedication, Night Sakura Noh" is a stage you want to visit once, in accordance with the old style called outdoor performance. It will make you think that the tradition of having the show has been continued for 120 years even after a lot of earthquake disasters and warfare. It may also remind you that it will be continued in the future.
It is performed outdoor at night but the stage is illuminated all the way from its entrance to stage. So don't worry about it's too dark and you can't see anything. You will have unforgettable experience.
