1984 Hirota Tomoyuki went to National Music College. He joined the Japan Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra while he was studying here. From 1988 to August 2000 he had served as the chief principal oboe player.
He made a solo debut in September 2000 and received a high reputation in memorial concerts at Casals Hall, Osaka Izumi Hall in Tokyo. After that, in 2003 he played Oboe Recital in Kyoto: Citizen Hall Arti. In 2005, he performed at Hakusui Hall, Hamarikyu Asahi Hall in Tokyo. All gained high reputation.
Since 2006 he has served as the principal oboe player of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.
He is a member of Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra, also a member of the Eiros Ensemble.
So far, he has participated in the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo City Philharmonic, the Milano / Scala String Orchestra, the Czech Chamber Soloists, the Salzburg Room Orchestra, the Moscow Soloists, the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, and many other domestic and international orchestras, also a large number of concerto and orchestra collaboration. He frequently appeared at the NHK art theater and FM recital.
Along with busy orchestral activities, in recent years he has been making remarkable progress in the field of music video, genre-less activities such as pops and jazz.

Strauss: Oboe Concerto, 4 last songs and others", "Mozart: Oboe quartet & quintet "Songs", "Oboe Ensemble HAIM", "Singing Reed - Japanese Oboe Works Collection", "Chameleon Bach Chameleon Bach" has been released from Japan Acoustic Records.
He has served as a jury of major competitions such as the Japanese Music Competition and Nippon Koji Percussion Competition. Currently, he is working as a professor at Ueno Gakuen University and a special professor at Toho Gakuen University for his guidance. He is also the Japan Oboe Association permanent director.
