Ito Takeshi (Itto Takeshi, March 15, 1954) is a Japanese fusion musician from Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. He plays Saxophone, wind synthesizer, flute player.
Since he was a child, he have interest in music and learn piano and violin. In Fukuoka Municipal Highway Junior High School era, he entered the brass band and was in charge of Euphonium and Tuba. Although he entered Seinan Gakuin High School and turned into a flute, he read the autobiography of Sadao Watanabe "Jazz for myself" and then turned to Alto saxophone.
He entered the Nihon University School of Arts and belongs to the "Rhythm Society Orchestra", and in parallel with it, he is registered in two bands "Witch Hunt" and "Last Day". Since Witch Hunt's drummer (Michael Kawai) was concurrently serving as THE SQUARE (later T - SQUARE) led by Ando Masayo, he appeared as a guest, joined THE SQUARE after the dissolution of Witch Hunt (1977).
Debuted in 1978. Two songs "TRAVELERS" and "ALL ABOUT YOU" recorded in "ADVENTURES" in 1984 were appointed for Suntory White's Spring / Summer edition CF which was televised at that time, and Ito himself appeared in CF as well.
In 1991 he withdrew from T - SQUARE and started solo career. Returned to T - SQUARE in 2000. From this time on, T - SQUARE changes its form from a band form to a unit form with Ando, but since 2005 it has changed to band form again.
In 1998 he participated as a guest musician on the soundtrack of "Detective Conan 14th Target", the following year "Detective Conan the Century of the Magician".
In recent years there has been a deep connection with the brass band, as well as a competition with the Sienna Wind Orchestra, guest appeared at the regular concert of Seibu Gakuin High School brass band, the alma mater.
