Shigeru Maruyama is a violinist from Japan. He completed Masters Degree in Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He won the Kurouzer Prize at the end. He studied under Mr. Katoshi Ueda. Since 1992, as a government scholarship student at the German Academic Exchange Meeting (DAAD), he entered the Master course at Munich Music University.
He studied Klaus Shilde on the piano and Mr. Helmut Deutsch on the song playing method. In 1994, he received the singing accompaniment special prize at Hans Pfitzner Singing Competition (Munich). In the same year, he completed a music university in Munich. After having experienced various international experiences with young performers thereafter, in 1995 he moved the place of activity to Japan.
In 1997, he received the excellent accompanist award at the JSG International Music Competition (Tokyo · Osaka). In the same year, a debut recital was held at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan as 'Concert Concert 93' sponsored by the Japan National Federation. Since then he has been active as a soloist. Currently, he is a Tokyo College of Music Department of Music Department of Chamber Music, and a piano department part-time lecturer.
