King Jam was founded in 1998 by Pikkal from Osaka, Japan. After playing at clubs in Osaka for 2 years, Pikkal decides to move to NY to improve his language skills and to explore the foreign reggae scene by flesh. Soon as he arrived, he met Steel-T, his current selector. The two got along perfectly with their love towards reggae music. One day at an Electronic shop, they meet a strange guy named Skerrit from a sound called Ghetto Life, a sound based in the Bronx. The three exchanged their numbers and from then, thanks to Skerrit and the Ghetto Life crew, King Jam has kept their regular dances with Ghetto Life and other Bronx sounds until now.
In the past five years, they have played with sounds like, Young Hawk, Blunt Passy, Afrique, Massive B, Steele Bashment, Stone Love, Bass Odyssey, Fire Links and etc. In 2004, the sound welcomed Miki Rooney and Haji. In 2006, Global-G as their new crew, making King Jam larger then ever. Since year 2000, King Jam has traveled throughout the U.S (Florida, Atlanta, Washington DC, New Jersey and Connecticut) and other countries such as Bermuda, Bahamas and other islands.
From 2006, King Jam is going to spread the team up to Japan and U.S aiming for a bigger picture for the Unlimited Sound to get better recognition in the world. Their great ambition and love towards reggae music has grown bigger then ever before. King Jam is looking forward to share and spread their love for reggae music all over the world.
