Takeshi Kumi (Dec. 13, 1975) is a conductor and director. He was born in Shimane Prefecture and graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University. He participated in conducting since he was in school, and from 1996 to 2009, he conducted a large number of performances including “Akamori” and “Merry Widow”.
As a representative of the Tokyo Operetta Theater since 2009, he has been active not only as a conductor but also as a director and has produced many opera and operetta works with Japanese translation.
In 2014, he won the 13th Yoshio Sagawa Music Award Encouragement Prize for "Girl's Marika,".
