First ever orchestra with traditional instruments from Japan, China, and Korea!
"Orchestra Asia"
"Orchestra Asia" is a dream band based on a collection of traditional Asian instruments that no one could ever set out.
Music, musicians, and producers from Japan, China and Korea have been in close contact with each other for many years, and they have been founded in 1993 by bringing together their passionate passions.
Starting with the creation of a repertoire by composers from three countries, the following June 1994, a performance concert was held at Seoul's Hall of Fame Concert Hall in Seoul, Korea, with a shocking debut.
The traditional instruments of the three Northeast Asian countries gathered in Orchestra Asia are originally from Central Asia via ancient China, and there are many instruments of relatives transmitted to Japan via the Korean peninsula, while each country has been improved separately over time, Proud of each tradition and individuality. Therefore, even if the roots were the same, creating know-how of ensembles with common rules was a very difficult task.
However, without losing the individuality of each instrument, we challenge in the long-standing dream of producing a new tone by a collaboration of the three countries, and while organizing about 50 types of traditional instruments, an orchestra unique to Oriental contrasting with the western orchestra vividly Was born.
Then every year we hold concerts in each East Asian city.
In Japan, including the concerts in Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Toyama, Gifu, Osaka, Kobe, Okayama, Tokushima and Fukuoka, the "God to commemorate the 50 years after the war" sponsored by the Japanese government (National Theater), Japan Media Arts Festival Hosted performances "Asia Art Festival" (National Theater), "Nagano Olympics Memorial Performance" (Nagano Prefectural Cultural Center), NHK TV "Kickoff 2002 Asia New Era", Aichi Earth Expo "The Japan-China-Korea Orchestra Asia Concert We are developing active activities across national and ethnic boundaries, such as 'special performances'.
Currently, Orchestra Asia is organized by the Chinese Opera and Dance Theater, Korean Central Music Orchestra, and Orchestra Asia Japan (Japan Orchestra).
We sincerely hope that we can feel from our activities the possibility of creating a human culture that is adapted to nature beyond the national grace and across the border and that it supports us.
