Tomoko Harata is a violinist from Morioka City. She graduated from Morioka Daiichi High School.
She graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, College of Music. She completed the master's course in the same graduate school. She also studied at Royal College of Music, the UK as a 1989-1990 Rotary International Foundation Scholar. Tomoko Harata obtained A.R.C.M.Honors with the highest grade during enrollment.
She received the 3rd prize in Japan Chamber Music Competition. She is also a member of Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa since 1998. She studied in Frankfurt in 2001-2002 as a "2000 Overseas Student Dispatched Artist Overseas Trainee". Tomoko Harata currently plays in the orchestra, as well as solo, plays chamber music and have teaching activities.
