Dmitry Feygin

Russian cellist Dmitry Feygin was born in Moscow in 1968, the family of a distinguished cellist, Valentine Feygin and his wife Galina Zubareva, a famous cello teacher.
Dmitry Feygin entered Moscow Conservatory at its central music school, special educational institution for highly musically gifted children, and continued his study at Moscow Conservatory where he completed his master degree. He studied cello with his father and as well as the chamber music class with Alexandr Korchagin, a well known cellist in the Shostakovich Chamber Orchestra.

During school he made his debut as a soloist in Moscow Conservatory Great Hall, where he played P. Tchaikovsky's Rococco Variations, under the baton of the Vedernikov, who is currently conductor at the Bolshoi Theatre. Dmitry Feygin has won numerous prizes including those from Viva Competition in Japan, the Shostakovich Chamber Music Competition in Russia, and many others. Dmitry was highly praised, especially in the Shostakovich competition, given the Sonata prize by Mrs. Shostakovich.

He has been playing solo and chamber concerts overseas, as well since 1986 at the Viktring Festival, the Carinthiset Sommer Festival in Austria, the Calmar Festival in France organized by Russian violinist Vladimir Spivakov, the Oleg organized by Natalie along with many others. Most recently, he took a very important position in November Art Festival in Moscow Maestro.

Feygin had intensively performed with a Russian conductor llia Mussin, since 2001. Also, he has been playing concertos with numerous well known Japanese orchestras, under the batons of a world-wide prominent Japanese conductor, with Kenichiro Kobayashi.

Since 1995 he has been an accredited Concert Philharmonic Association member. He also taught at the Moscow Conservatory Central music school. Since 2003, Mr. Feygin resides in Japan. He is currently holding a professorship position at Tokyo College of Music.
