Kyoto City Symphony Orchestra is a professional orchestra based in Kyoto City. In April 1956, it was founded as the sole municipal directly-managed orchestra in Japan.
From April 2009, it was operated by the foundation Kyoto City Music Arts and Culture Promotion Foundation. Currently, permanent conductor and music advice areJunichi Hirokami, Naoto Otomo as Conductor of Conductor. In 2005, it signed to a sister orchestra alliance with the Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK).
