Charan-Po-Rantan is a sister duo that has an "exuberant, alternative-cabaret-meets-circus vibe" as described by Wall Street Journal, comprised of Momo, 24, on vocals, and her older sister, Koharu, 28, on the accordion.

Also as put by the newspaper: "Imagine an accordion-fueled soundtrack for circus performers dashing through a gypsy camp, on their way to a particularly rowdy bar mitzvah - by way of Paris - Then imagine costumes to match.", the music of the Japanese girl duo is a melting pot of all these elements with a modern twist. Lyrics are dripped with wit and black humor, an exact opposite and surprising contrast to their colorful, eye-catching outfits (which are all designed by Koharu, and handmade by the sisters' mother and grandmother).

Since the duo's formation in 2009, they have performed anywhere from the streets of Japan to Joe's Pub NYC in 2017, SXSW and Japan Foundation NYC in 2015, Japan's famed Fuji Rock Festival in 2012/2015, even being named as one of the best acts of the festival in 2015, and the legendary Nippon Budokan in Tokyo in 2013. They also toured Canada in 2012, and joined Rock in Taichung festival in Taiwan the same year. Individually, while Koharu, the accordion player has been touring with a Japanese super band Mr. Children at stadiums and arenas around Japan since 2016, Momo, the vocalist has tapped into acting and done several critically acclaimed theatrical monodorama performances in Tokyo and Osaka.

Their latest album was released in November 2017, and all eyes are on this talented duo as they continue to create their borderless "colorful poison" that draws out a world of fantasy, madness and humor through their well-rounded musical circus entertainment.
