Shinji Nishi was born on November 19, 1960 in Hiroshima, Nagasaki Prefecture. He learned the piano from childhood and became familiar with the classic.
At the age of 10 he formed the band under the influence of THE BEATLES.
In 1976, when he was 16 years old, he started a professional activity as a guitarist.
In 1978, Shinji moved to the USA and met Mr Char.
In 1979 after returning home, he formed a legendary group "Spectrum" with Mr. Ichiro Nitta and others. He raised a sensation in Japan's pop & rock world. Along with group activities, the first solo album "Nishi" was announced by Mr. Keisuke Kuwata. At that time, Shinji held a session with overseas musicians (Michael Brecker, Stevie Wonder, etc.).
Spectrum dissolved in September 1981. After that, he formed a Radix with Yoshitaka Shimada.
From the mid-1980s, Mr. Char also got deepened, and he joined the work of Edoi Label at that time several times.
In 1993 he formed "MIX NUTS". It gathered the attention of fans with the unique personality and sound which was different from Nishi Shinji so far.
His solo activity was resume in parallel with MIX NUTS after 1995.
In 2011, he produced sound production of Mr. Ichiro Mizuki's 40th anniversary album, as well as producing live activities.
While actively performing live activities and artists' productions in 2012, participating and planning such as' Beautiful Island (Kagoshima) Music Convention in Miyakojima ',' Yappato Annon from SHOW 'etc, he also participated in his own album.
