Yurufuwa Gang are one of the latest Japanese hip-hop acts to be getting attention from both domestic media and overseas players. As the nation’s rap scene experiences something of a modest boom, the pair of Ryugo Ishida and Sophiee seem poised to be part of it.
Just don’t expect them to offer analysis of the native rap scene.

This detachment from Japan’s hip-hop community helps explain what makes Yurufuwa Gang’s debut album “Mars Ice House” such a radiant listen. Whereas other Japanese rappers lean too hard on imitating their American counterparts, Ishida, Sophiee and producer Automatic revel in their own colorful corner, coming up with Auto-tune-drenched numbers overflowing with glee.

“It has ‘gangster’ in the name and we play around with that, but it is also positive and fun,” Ishida says.

Cro-magnon is a 3-piece band. In 2004, the three people started acting as Cro-magnon. Always make audiences dance, they gain popularity in Korea and Southeast Asia. In 2009, they held the second European successfull tour, and on August 5 the same year, they released the full album of the 4th album!

Tagaryu (Dengaku, 1982) is a Japanese rapper, music producer, DJ, actor. His real name is Takashi Tamura (Takashi Tamura).
Born in 1982 in Ichinomiya Town, Yamanashi Prefecture (now Fubuki City). Having a father working at an advertising agency and a mother of a full-time homemaker as parents. He started rapping when he was a high school student. After graduating from high school in 2001, he studied in New York, USA. Returned in 2004. He returned to his hometown and formed stillichimiya with his childhood friends.

In 2008, he released his solo album "Work Collection JUST". He was one of the leading actors in the 2011 film "Sauderde". In 2012, the solo album "Like B Class Movie 2" was released. In 2013, the video work "B-class Tour-Japan edition-" was released. In addition to the DVD, which Studio Stone shot the design of the national tour that took place in the previous year, the album also comes with a photo collection by Takahiro Yamaguchi, a photographer who has been in the tour. In 2015, he released the album "Tagaryu and Kaiser Soze" under the name of "Tagaryu and Kaiser Soze" in the band project. In 2019, the solo album "Ride On Time" was released.

U-DOU & PLATY is a reggae unit from Okinawa Prefecture. They has been working on a new genre called “Okinawan Reggae” that combines Okinawan traditions and reggae. Activities started in 1998. Major debut from Victor Entertainment in 2006. Moved to RIDDIM ZONE in 2007.

A two-piece Dee-Jay unit consisting of U-DOU from Okinawa City, where the banyan suits, and PLATY from Dongfeng Hei-cho, where sugarcane fields spread out. The so-called “Eupura” is a genuine Uchinanchu (Okinawa) who loves his hometown.

The dance hall reggae style sings with the words Uchinaguchi that uses the feelings of Futsu's boys who live in Okinawa, with the bright brightness that is unique to the southern country. This style that incorporates the essence of Okinawan music is unique. The world view extends to the environment and base issues and the severe situation in Okinawa.
