Alexander Evegenievich Cobrin (Alexander Kobrin, Aleksandr Kobrin, 20th March 1980 -) is a pianist of classical music born in Moscow, Russia. He was born in Moscow, Russia in 1980. In 1985, he began piano at the age of 5 and studied under Tatiana A. Zelikman at the Moscow Guneusin Conservatory in Tatyana Zelikman. In 1998, he studied under Lev Naumov Lev N. Naumov at the Moscow Conservatory . He won the Glasgow International Piano Competition. In 1999, he won the Bezoni International Piano Competition . In 2000, he ranked third in Chopin International Piano Competition .
In 2003, he got 2nd place at Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (without first place).
In 2005, he won the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition .
In 2015 he is a professor of the piano department at Columbus State University in the USA and Steinhardt School at NYU.
He has been appointed at the age of 35 as a judge of the Bezoni International Piano Competition.
