Ryoichi Fujimori is a Japanese classical cellist, born in Kyoto, Japan. He has currently been a cello chief at NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo since 1987.
He started playing cello when he was just 11 years. After entering Kyoto Municipal Horikawa High School Music School (now Kyoto Municipal Kyoto Horikawa Music High School) and entered Tokyo University of Music as special student. In 1982, he was awarded the 29th Culture Broadcasting Music Award and won the 1st place in the 52nd Japan Music Competition in Cello Section in 1983. He was taught by Keiichiro Tokunaga, Noboru Uemura, Fumiaki Kono, etc,. Currently, he is also active as a member of Morgor Quartet, Cello Quartet "La Quartina".
