Masashi Teshima

Masashi Teshima is a Japanese opera singer, born in Kitakyushu. She graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and won the Matsuda Toshi Prize at university graduation. The artist won the Fukuoka Music and Cultural Association Award at the 38th West Japan Freshman Concert. She won Placido Domingo World Opera Contest · Mezzo · Soprano category in 1994 and received the Kitakyushu Citizen Culture Award Encouragement Prize in 1995.

From the autumn of 1998 she went to New York as an overseas trainee of Agency for Cultural Affairs Dispatch Art. Meanwhile, she participated in the "Bernstein Festival" sponsored by Indiana State University, Marian · Anderson · Vocal · Art Competition · (Semi · Finalist), Chicago Symphony Orchestra "Ravinia Music Festival".
After returning to Japan, she performed the 50th anniversary of the 2nd Annual Meeting in 2001. In the same year, she also appeared on the Yomiuri Hiko 40th anniversary performance, "Parsifal" directed by Gerto Albrecht with a flower girl role. In 2003 "Fidelio" at the Osaka Izumi Hall, "Leonore" at "Concert Style", Ronpel at the 2005 Gunma Symphony Orchestra "Spain Time" Concepción.
