Queen is an English rock band founded in 1970 in London . Their official performance lineup includes Freddie Mercury (lead song, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocalist), Roger Taylor (drummer, vocalist) and John Deacon (bass). Queen's debut products have a lot of progressive rock influences , hard rock and heavy metal , but later they are growing in a more public-facing style and combining with many other genres, including arena rock and pop rock .

Before forming Queen, May and Taylor played together at Smile group . Mercury is a fan of this band and asks them to try new styles and techniques. Mercury joined the group in 1970, proposing the name "Queen" ("Queen") and choosing it as the official name for the band. Deacon was hired as a bassist after completing the group's first album recording in 1973.
