Kuwada Ayumu is a Japanese cellist, born in Tsuchiura-shi. He served as the head of the Gunma Symphony Orchestra and the New Nova Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (now Tokyo Phil), and is also frequently a guest performer of the Yomiuri Nichiko, Tokyo Keikyu, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Osaka Phil.
Since 1999, he took office as a cellist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra and now he is the principal acting player. Besides releasing nearly 20 CDs as a chamber musician and a member of N. Eric's four cellists, La Quartina. He also released 2 solo collections "Vocalise" and "Melody" and both have gained a high reputation.
