Shinji Nishiyama is a Japanese contrabassist, born in Nagano. He begin playing contrabass at the age of 13 and graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He won the third prize in the 9th Takarazuka Bega Music Competition String Musical Department and appeared in The 71th Yomiuri Shinken Performance Concert . Currently, He is also active as a member of the duo "Duo Twins (duo · twins)" with twin brother · Kenichi and the indoor orchestra "ARCUS (Arx)".
