Sayuri Fukushima is from Hokkaido Ishikari city. She studied to play the flute from the age of 12.
At the 63rd All Japan Student Music Competition Hokkaido Competition, Sayuri won second place in the high school department. And at the 29th Ichikawa City Culture Promotion Foundation Newcomer Concours Wind Instruments Division, she was awarded Best Award.
Sayuri also won the fourth place in the 18th Flute Convention Competition Solo Section.
In 2017, at Salzburg-Mozarteum Music College, she completed master class of Mr. Peter-Lucas Graaf at the Summer International Music Academy.
So far she has studied flute with Keigo Mori, Kazutaka Shimizu, Iku Koike, Ayako Takagi, Hiroaki Kanda, Chamber Music, Hitoshi Wakui, Tsutomu Inouehara, and Fruto Travelos with Ririko Maeda. She graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University music major. Currently Sayuri is enrolled in instrumental music major in Tokyo Graduate School of Music.
