Kana Onda (pianist) was born in Hiroshima. She began learning the piano from the age of 4. Onda graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She was awarded the 2005 Iizuka Shintoshi Music Competition Piano Division Award during the graduate school of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and a silver prize at the 2006 Pitina piano competition special class category.
Kana Onda studied at Freiburg Music University in Germany in 2009. She completed the solo diploma course in 2013 and got a German national musician's qualification. After winning the 1st prize at the Leptin Piano Competition ( Germany ) at the time of her enrollment, Onda began her performance in Germany and elsewhere. She also attended Lyon International Piano Competition ( France ) finalist.
Onda has performed with Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo New City Orchestra, Slovakia Ladies' Chamber Orchestra, Freiburg Music College Orchestra.
Also at Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Freiburg Music College Orchestra , " Beautiful German Soloist debut - Beautiful Android Beethoven with a Heroized Balance and Outstanding Refined Sound Balance - Badgeshe Zeitung " and local paper. It was highly appreciated.
So far she studied piano solo with Keiyasu Hamamoto, Seki Takahiro, Akiyoshi Aoyagi, Gabriel Tackinno, Gilliad Micholli, Chamber Music with Hiroko Kakuno, Kenji Watanabe, Sylvia Altenburger, and Loglite Ishai.
Currently, Kana Onda is a part-time lecturer at the piano department of Tokyo College of Music. She is also actively working on chamber music mainly on solo performances.
