Takashi Okutsumi is a violinist born in 1983. Started playing cello at the age of 6, he graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. After that, he studied at the Tossingen Music College in Germany.
He was a contract member of the Bavarian State Opera from 2007 for two years. He has participated in the ensemble series nurtured by JT, Swiss International Academy led by Seiji Ozawa, Seiji Ozawa Music Orchestra, Saito Kinen Chamber Music Study Club, Mito Chamber Orchestra, Tokyo Spring Music Festival.
After returning to Japan in 2009, he works as a lecturer at Ueno Gakuen University. So far, he studied cello with Yoshiro Uehara, Fumiaki Kono, Yasuo Harada, Ev Savary.
