King Brothers [キングブラザーズ] is a rock band from Nishinomiya City in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Formed in 1997, the band made its major label debut on Toshiba EMI in 2001. The group was banned from performing at several venues in Osaka after destructive live shows. They are a combination of four members: Keizo (Vocals, Guitar), Marya (Guitar, Screaming), Shinnosuke (Bass), Taichi (Drums, Power).

If Jon Spencer took roots rock n roll and deconstructed it, then Nishinomiyas King Brothers threw it against a wall and left it there bleeding. Metropolis Magazine enthuses. Nishinomiya City, Japan, three-piece combining the sound of the Germs backing Howlin Wolf. I-94 Bar Magazin calls turning the blues inside-out.

The band is Keizo Matsuo on guitar, harp and vocals, Masafumi Marya Koyama on guitar and Zony on drums. The band came together in 1997 and has proved one of Japans most durable rock outfits, backing the likes of Jon Spencer, the White Stripes and Strokes in their tours of the country. The NYC connection goes further as it was Jon Spencer who produced earlier albums and Matt Verta-Ray who recorded those same albums.
Their self-titled debut album hit the streets in 1998. The band made its major label debut in Japan on Toshiba EMI in 2001 before they sign to In The Red the same year. This two guitar and drums trio cramps toxic punk rock, barbed-wire blues and wrestled with fuzzed-out noise.
The groove has never been stronger.

Its no surprise that the King Brothers live shows get attention. Taking to the stage dressed in what have become their trade mark black and white suits, the three-piece who hails from Nishinomiya City, Japan appear amaze audiences with their insanely energetic stage act. Within a matter of seconds, all hell breaks loose as they burst into life; a cacophony of guitars, vocals and drums smashing into the fans at full tilt. The King Brothers are known as the most dangerous act in Japan, having had themselves banned from nearly every club in Osaka for destroying property.

WASTELAND, the new 20th ANNIVERSARY album by King Brothers is slated for a September 28 2018 release date on HOUND GAWD! Records. Wasteland was produced by the band itself at Nishinomiya City Studio and mastered by Soichiro Nakamura at Peace Music Studio. Nakamura has produced albums for artists like Moe Tucker, The Residents, The 5.6.7.8s, Guitar Wolf. Album artwork was rendered by longtime friend Arisa Momonoi and photos were shot by Kazuki Watanabe and Tomoko Okabe.
The band tours virtually and performs at several shows in Europe in 2018.

LAUGHIN 'NOSE is a Japanese punk rock band formed in 1981 including four members: Charmy (vocal), Lina (guitar), Pon (bass), Ki-Yan (drum). Since date of establishment, they have released some of albums: Meat market, If you don't mind pleased laugh, Go for it, Regeneration, Buttobase, etc,.

Laughin Nose isone of Japans longest running punk rock bands. They have a completely different and honestly extremely cool and refreshing attitude towards these old, forgotten-by-most concert videos: they upload them all to youtube themselves. Their channel, LaughinTube has well over a dozen of these old concert videos and not only bootleg ones, but also out-of-print official releases.

They formed back in 1981 in Osaka, in the golden age of Japanese punk rock and theyve been active ever since, with only a short stop between 1991 and 1995. They had a lot of member changes over the years, but two original members, vocalist Charmy and bassists Pon are still in the band. And most importantly: the music. Think of the most typical and old-school, raw, yet melodic punk rock you can imagine and you know exactly what to expect. They never did anything revolutionary, they were never inventive or experimental, they were just always 100% true to their roots and they still manage to churn out great punk tunes nowadays, even 35 years after they started.

THE NEATBEATS (The Neat Beats) is a rock band from Kansai, formed in 1996 including four members: MR.PAN, MR.LAWDY, MR.GULLY, MR.MONDO. Since the date of establishment, they have released some of albums such as: MR.MONDO, LOOKS SO NICE, (DO THE) GLOBAL TWIST, BABY LET'S GET SHAKE, YOU'VE GOT MY HEART, 59 BAR, etc,.

Screeching guitars with intriguingly off-beat tempos, GEZAN is psych-rock and punk fused in its finest. Although GEZAN shows strong similarities with artists such as Omar Rodiguez-Lopez (At The Drive-In, The Mars Volta) and The Refused, they definitely have gone above and beyond to create their own unique style in their entire brand – music, video, style, live shows and more.

However GEZAN isnt all adrenaline fueled guitar breakdowns and controlled chaos, their song And Bombers Scab (which Im unsure if Google translated correctly, but you can watch the video here) show a side of the band reminiscent of the mid-90s indie/emo scene that sounds similar to The Get Up Kids.

Formed in Osaka but transplanted to Tokyo, Gezan has been through a lot since their 2012 Fuji Rock Rookie a Go Go appearance. Collaborations with Aoba Ichiko, Tenniscoats, LOSTAGE and Togawa Jun all leading up to last Octobers release of their 4th album Silence Will Speak, recorded by none other than Steve Albini. Even Acid Mothers Temple vocalist Kawabata Makoto has said they are his favorite live band in Japan. They certainly arent rookies anymore.

Gezan feels a little like a sonic slot machine, youre never quite sure what combination of rhythms and sounds will unroll next. Frequently you hit the jackpot. They are at once both full of catchy toe-tapping sensibility and uniquely sharp and jagged edges, ready to throw you a middle finger curveball as soon as you think you have figured out how to comfortably fit them into a genre. Punk, pop, screamo, industrial, hardcore and rap all thrown into a blender. Singer Mahito the Peoples vocals are sharp and piercing, just on the right side of being painful. These things come through quite clearly on their recordings, especially on Silence Will Speak. Dig deeper into their back catalogue if you want to see the weird places the bands current sound evolved from.

However, Gezan can only really be understood in the context of a live performance. The bands blend of playfulness and earnesty. Mahitos cocky swagger and looks, and especially his feral unpredictability. Much like the musical compositions themselves, things are liable to go from mockingly smug to legitimately fierce and rabid in the blink of an eye.

Japanese retro-rock outfit the Neatbeats (NEATBEATS) takes its musical and fashion cues from the sound of the '50s, sporting three-piece suits and channeling Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis, with the occasional Rolling Stones vibe sneaking in as well. The group was started in 1997 by guitarists Manabe Takashi, aka Mr. Pan (all band members have "Mr...." aliases), and Tosa Kazube (Mr. Lawdy), bassist Ura Dai (Mr. Gully), and drummer Kusube Shinya (Mr. Shenn). Manabe became the lead singer, with the rest of the band backing him on most songs.

Neatbeats debuted the next year with the single "Spoilt Girl" (1998), soon followed by the first full-length, Far and Near (1998), out on the U.S. indie label Get Hip, which also handled their second album, Mercurial (1999). The next album, Everybody Need, and the EP There Now (both 2000), were out on Deckrec, but by 2002 the Neatbeats got signed by Universal. Before that, Ura Dai left the band, and was replaced by Miru Seizen (Mr. Royal), who played on the band's fifth studio album, the aptly named Golden Goodies (2002), and widely acclaimed as their best record.

The album was recorded with the help of pianist Shirai Mikio from the prominent Japanese punk/R&R band the High-Lows, with whom Neatbeats played live, and supported by a Japan-wide club tour, during which time Kusube left, to be replaced by Kazuyuki Kuhara from Thee Michelle Gun Elephant for the rest of the shows. The band hardly visited the studio in 2003, but the period of inactivity was short: the next year they switched labels, moving to BMG Funhouse, found a permanent drummer in Asahara Keisuke (Mr. Shallow), and released a new album Attention Please (2004). Manabe worked in a bevy of side projects at the time, but that didn't stop Neatbeats from recording, with Big Beat Mind coming out in 2005, the cover album Rock'n'roll Christmas in 2006, two EPs in 2007, and the eighth studio album Roll on Good in 2008.
