インディーズ時代はLimited Recordsに所属。2000年代前半に中高生の間で人気を集めたジャンルである青春パンクの代表的存在である。その後、東芝EMIに移籍し2003年1月にメジャーデビュー。
バンド名は、SHOGOの小学校時代の友人のあだ名からちなんだものである。ちなみに、名前に特に意味はない。

今回のステージ内容については、まずコブラにおいてはライフワークである「昭和プロレス・テーマ曲」の秘蔵情報の掘り起こしを軸に、従来の研究成果の全てを注ぎ込んだものとなる。そしてミック博士においては昭和プロレスマガジン誌上で追求中の「昭和のリーグ戦研究」の最新版、哀愁の「ラッシャー木村/一代記」、今年「星になった」男たち特集等々、入魂の上映企画の展開となろう。
また、これ以上のネタばらしは無粋ゆえ明かさぬが、他にも当日は日大アメフト監督も顔面蒼白の悪質反則王と呼ばれる怪人物の乱入も噂され、渾身の2時間30分となることは間違いなし!さぁ今こそ、全関西のプロレス・オールドファン達よ、トーク&映像ショー『昭和プロレス復活祭』のもとに馳せよ、そして狂え!
1994年ウド・ツヴェルファーのもとウィーン・フォルクスオーパー交響楽団のメンバーらにより結成された。世界中からウィーンを訪れる人々に本物のウィーン音楽を、本場の雰囲気で、一流の音楽家たちによる演奏で提供しようとの狙いのもと設立。
レパートリーは、ウィーンを代表する作曲家であるヨーゼフ・ランナー、シュトラウス一家、 カレル・コムザーク、カール・ミヒャエル・ツィーラー、フリッツ・クライスラー、エメリヒ・カールマン、フランツ・レハール、ロベルト・シュトルツなどの序曲、ワルツ、ポルカやマーチ。またヨハン・シュトラウス2世の代表的なオペレッタ「こうもり」、「ジプシー男爵」、「ヴェネツィアの一夜」、「ウィーン気質」、レハール「メリー・ウィドウ」、カールマン「チャールダーシュの女王」、「伯爵令嬢マリツァ」、カール・ツェラー「小鳥売り」、ミレッカー「乞食学生」、「ガスパローネ」などからの有名なアリアやデュオなど、非常に幅広い。
ランナーやヨハン・シュトラウス一家の伝統を継承し、ウド・ツヴェルファーがヴァイオリンと指揮の弾き振りをするスタイル。演奏者同士の緊密なコミュニケーションと楽しげな演奏スタイルは、聴衆をも幸せに満たすような抜群の雰囲気でホールを包み込む。
1998年以降、ウィーンにおいて年間300回を超えるコンサートを開催するなど、抜群の人気を誇っている。
ウィーン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団のニューイヤーコンサート（独: Das Neujahrskonzert der Wiener Philharmoniker ）は、毎年1月1日にウィーン楽友協会の大ホール（黄金のホール）で行なわれるマチネ（昼公演）の演奏会（コンサート）である。ヨハン・シュトラウス2世を中心とするシュトラウス家の楽曲が主に演奏される。映像はライブで90を超す世界各国に中継され、世界中の人々がこのコンサートを楽しむ。日本における生中継の放送は、元日夜のプライムタイム（ゴールデンタイム）に当たる。
1938年ナチス・ドイツのオーストリア併合によるオーストリア人の不満をためないようヨハン・シュトラウスのワルツやポルカのコンサートが1939年12月31日にクレメンス・クラウスの指揮により初めて開催され、1941年の第2回からはオーストリア初代大統領カール・レンナーが1950年12月31日に死去した影響で1月14日に延期となった1951年を除いて、1月1日の正午（CET）に開催されるようになった。
1955年以降ヴィリー・ボスコフスキーが指揮をし、1959年各国に中継され始めた頃から人気が高まり、現在は全世界の40カ国以上に生中継されている。2002年には小澤征爾が、アジア人ではズービン・メータに続き2人目の指揮者となった。

ギタリストとして多くのミュージシャンに多大な影響を与えたロックミュージックのパイオニアの一人。右利き用のギターを逆さまにして左利きの構えで演奏するスタイルで知られる。ギターを歯や背中で弾き、火を放ち、破壊するパフォーマンスでも有名。
「ローリング・ストーン誌が選ぶ歴史上最も偉大な100人のギタリスト」において2003年は第1位、2011年の改訂版でも第1位に選ばれている。2008年5月にブラジルのメタル専門誌『ROADIE CREW』が行った「HR/HM系ミュージシャンが選ぶギタリスト・ランキング」、『ギター・マガジン』2010年12月号の「ギター・マガジンが選ぶ! 史上最も偉大なギタリスト100人」で1位となっている。
また、「ローリング・ストーン誌が選ぶ歴史上最も偉大な100組のスター」においては第6位に選ばれている。
6歳の頃からギターを始め、ハイスクール時代にはブルース・ギタリストのB.B.キングやジャズ・サックス・プレーヤーのジョン・コルトレーンに影響を受け、ジャズを演奏し始める。スリム・エドワーズやジョー・パスに師事した。1966年から1968年までL.A.ハーバー・カレッジ、1968年から1970年をロングビーチ州立大学で音楽を専攻した。サンディエゴで開かれた南カリフォルニア・ビッグ・バンド・コンテストで最優秀ソロイスト賞を受賞し、1968年にファースト・アルバム「With a Little Help from My Friends」をリリース。その後もソロでの経歴を重ね、1971年から1976年までジャズ・ロック・グループ、ザ・クルセイダーズに参加する。1977年にはワーナー・ブラザース・レコードと契約し、1978年から1984年に掛けて、6枚のソロ・アルバムを制作した。その楽曲と演奏に対し、4つのグラミー賞を受賞している。1970年代には、ロサンゼルスでセッション・ミュージシャンとしても活躍し、スティーリー・ダンやジョニ・ミッチェルも含む多数のアルバムに参加している。ローリング・ストーン誌のベスト・ギター・ソロに関する投票では、"Kid Charlemagne"(スティーリー・ダンのアルバム、The Royal Scamに収録)でのプレイが第3位に選ばれている。
1985年には、アコースティック・ジャズ・アルバム制作のために、MCAレコードと契約した。その成果が、アルバム「Alone, But Never Alone」である。この年から1990年の間、カールトンは様々なソロ・プロジェクトで活動し、再度グラミー賞を受賞している。しかし、アルバム「On Solid Ground」制作中の1988年4月、"Room 335"（南カルフォルニアにある自宅のプライベート・スタジオ）の外にいた青年に銃撃される事件が起きた。幸い一命はとりとめたものの、この銃撃により彼の声帯は破壊された上、左腕にも麻痺が残り、発声をしたりギターが演奏できるようになるまでには半年以上を要したほどの重傷であった。彼自身も重大な精神的外傷を負ったが、徹底的な治療とポジティブな持ち前の精神力で、最終的にはこのアルバムを完成させ、1989年に発表した。1991年からはブルース・アルバムのレコーディングを開始するが、ジャズ制作のオファーがあったため、制作は遅れることとなった。このブルース・アルバム「Renegade Gentleman」は、最終的には2年後の1993年にリリースされた。

He is best known for his song "Lovesick", which reached number 1 on the Spotify Viral charts in the United Kingdom and the United States. He also produced and co-wrote "First Things First" on Stormzy's Gang Signs & Prayer, which entered the UK Albums Chart at number 1 on 3 March 2017. The track also entered the singles chart at number 25. On 14 July 2017, he released his debut album Mura Masa, which has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, including Best Electronic Album and Best Recording Package. He is the first artist to be nominated as both a musician and creative director for the same album.
Alex Crossan was born and raised on the small island of Guernsey. After playing guitar, bass, drums, piano and singing in local punk, hardcore, deathcore and gospel bands as a teenager, he discovered Ableton Live at the age of 16 and began making trap.
He entered the electronic music scene after learning about Hudson Mohawke. He streamed music via YouTube and discovered James Blake, Cashmere Cat and SBTRKT. His influences including Gorillaz and The Smiths, inspired him to write music and learn to play different instruments.
At the age of 17, he uploaded his first tracks, remixes and bootlegs to Soundcloud. The track "Lotus Eater" was picked up by BBC Radio 1 with Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart all playing the song on their shows. After leaving Guernsey to study English Literature at University of Sussex in Brighton, Crossan began playing his music live, with sold out shows at the Green Door Store in Brighton and Electrowerkz in London. Mura Masa started his career by posting a mixtape called Soundtrack to a Death to SoundCloud in 2014. The mixtape was subsequently distributed globally by German label Jakarta Records.
In June 2018, Mura Masa worked with Nile Rodgers-organised collective Chic on the band's comeback double-album, entitled It's About Time. He featured alongside Cosha and Vic Mensa on the comeback single "Till the World Falls", which was released on 22 June 2018. Before that, 12 June 2018, the band also premiered another song from the album "Boogie All Night", which features Mura Masa, alongside working affiliate Nao.
