Hélène Boulègue is a flutist born from numerous influences. This is what makes her sound color and musicality so personal.
Principal Flute at the SWR Symphonieorchester- Stuttgart's radio orchestra- since spring 2018, Hélène's debut album will be released next February under the label Naxos. This season will also see her debut recitals in Luxembourg and the Netherlands, as well as in Kobe, where she will also be performing as a soloist with the Kobe City Chamber Orchestra.
The past year has also been a very exciting one for Hélène, who gave her first recital tour in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya), played live on Radio France (France Musique, Génération Jeunes Interprètes), and was invited for a concert at the prestigious Festival Radio France Occitanie.
Because she is not the most patient person, Hélène never liked to let things come one after the other. That accounts for how she got her position as second flute at the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 19, six months only after starting her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Pierre-Yves Artaud and Florence Souchard-Delépine. After her confirmation in her position and graduation with her Bachelor of Arts, she decided to study in Germany and started a Master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe with Renate Greiss-Armin, where she graduated in 2015.
First Prize at the Kobe International Flute Competition (2017), Second Prize at the International Prague Spring Competition (2015), Hélène Boulègue is not just a multiple laureate of renowned competitions. She is also a sought-after orchestra musician who played as a substitute in illustrious ensembles such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, or the Rotterdam Phiharmonic.
She played as a soloist with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tokyo Symphony Chamber Orchestra, amongst others. Hélène is also a recognized chambrist who has played numerous concerts in multiple formations. Moreover, Hélène is actively involved in musical mediation aimed at young audiences. For the last few years, she has been collaborating with the Education Department of the Luxembourg Philharmonie to create new concepts of participative concerts for children aged 6 to 9. She likes to moderate these concerts as much as she enjoys promoting her instrument in classes to eager youngsters.
And because she is as easily bored as she is impatient, Hélène spends her free time learning Japanese and running around on badminton courts when she is done practicing the flute.
