Smoking Ape was formed in 2002 with 3 member Kojo Dori [Vo / Gt], Katsuya Umehara [Ba], Yasuhiro Sekine [Dr]. In May 2006, they released 1st Full Album "Spiral Staircase" nationwide. Along with that, practice tours throughout the country in 30 places.
In October 2007, their initial representative song "Five Tatami Half" in Chaku-Uta (R) music site was ranked number one for about three weeks. On August 2008, a long-awaited new CD "Yumenotsutsuki" released nationwide after a member change.
Their songs are characterized by sorrowful chord progression and soft, transparent vocals. It combines kindness and punishment, sometimes even a sad scream is fascinated by its unique singing voice, and there are many people crying at the live show. It fascinates something deeply, sometimes boldly, something that can not be conveyed only to them, whichever one is missing.
Their unique view of the world as if they entwined a chain of emotion with rock is their greatest charm.
