WANIMA (ワニマ Wanima) is a Japanese punk rock band formed in 2010 from Kumamoto, Japan. Always upbeat and energetic, they play pop-punk with some ska influences. Their charismatic frontman KENTA shouts out lyrics filled with emotion and vivid imagery in a powerful, heartfelt way that stands out instantly next to similar bands in the Japanese rock scene.
While WANIMA was formed in 2008 and its current line-up has existed since 2012, it wasn’t until they inked a deal with the punk rock label PIZZA OF DEATH RECORDS in 2014 that their career truly began to take off. Since the release of their debut on the label, the mini-album Can Not Behaved !!, their catchy songs, intense live performances and silly sense of humour have earned them an impressive following in a very short time. Their fans are nicknamed “Wan-chans.” Their music video "Charm" won the Best rock video in 2017.
Members: KENTA(Vocalist, Bassist), KO-SHIN(Guitarist, Chorus), FUJI(Drums, Chorus).
