Motoi Sakurai is a conductor and vocalist. He graduated from the 4th class music culture course of the Faculty of Education , Hiroshima University, and the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. Completed the graduate school of classical music in baroque vocal music. He studied vocal music with Kazuya Edakawa, Katsunori Kono, Chieko Teratani, Yukari Nonoshita, choir conductor under Alexander Naji, conductor under Imamura Nomura, and Kogaku performing under Tetsuro Hanai. To date, he has been soloist of Handel Messiah, Bach B-Loan Massa, Church Cantata, Matthew Passion, Mozart Requiem.
He presides on Salicus Kammerchor, a chamber choir specializing in pre-Baroque vocal works. Vocal Ensemble Aramire, Ensemble leader. Tokyo Art University Bach Cantata Club 2013-2015 Performance Chairperson. He belongs to The Cygnus Vocal Octet, Japan Chamber Choir, Vocal Ensemble Capella, Early Music Ensemble Contraste, Male Voice Ensemble Hachiman, Vox humana etc. Assistant lecturer vons Floris Kogakuin.
