Johan Kobborg (June 5, 1972) is a ballet dancer and ballet leader from Denmark and former principal of the British Royal Ballet.
Born in Odense, Denmark's third largest city.
Kobo started his career at the Royal Ballet School of Denmark in 1988 at the age of 16. He joined the Royal Ballet of Denmark in 1991 and was appointed principal in 1994 after making his James debut in La Sylphide.
In 1999 he joined the Royal Ballet Company of the United Kingdom and performed most of the major roles in the company's repertoire.
Kobo has been active in ballet groups around the world, including the Mariinsky Ballet Company, Bolshoi Ballet Company, Milano Scala Ballet Company, etc. He has visited Japan many times for appearances at the World Ballet Festival.
Koborg often partners with Arena Kojokar from Romania, who is also Kobo's private life partner. In 2013, he left Royal Ballet with Kojokar. Later, he became Artistic Director of the Romanian National Ballet.
