CHELSEA MOVEMENT is a Tokyo's leading joglin sound. Reggae sound formed mainly in 1996 by the selector (DJ) SPICY (Spicy) and MC MARTIN-KINOO (Martin Kinu). In particular, he was active as a so-called joglin sound focusing on the part of dance hall reggae, which is a feature of dance hall reggae. Initially formed mainly in domestic and overseas activities, traveled around the world, including Jamaica, the Bahamas of Miami and the Caribbean, and invited to the first Japanese historical events “Dreadful” and “STING” in Jamaica. Etc., accomplishing great achievements, and recognizing its name as a Japanese reggae sound.
In 1999, it was temporarily stopped and the activities were suspended, but in 2008, reorganization of the long-awaited reggae fans was realized. Energetically appearing in events around Japan, reviving the legend of CHELSEA MOVEMENT again, making its popularity immovable. After returning, the first regular event, “Vinyl Only” party “EXTRA CLASSIC” started in 2011. This party, which celebrates its 4th anniversary this year, has become a hot topic not only in Tokyo but also in various parts of the country, creating a famous party that can be held in Osaka / Ibaraki / Nagoya. With the 90's reggae as the axis, the latest dance hall tune and tunes remixed from other genres are used to create a new era.
