Wadim Muntagirov was born in Russia. The principal of the British Royal Ballet. After receiving training at the Royal Ballet School's upper school and joining the English National Ballet, he transferred to the UK Royal Ballet in March 2014 as a principal.
After working at the Russian National Perm Ballet School, he received training at the Royal Ballet School Upper School. After graduating in 2009, he joined the English National Ballet (ENB), was promoted to first soloist in 2010, principal in 2011, and lead principal in 2012. The main repertoires at ENB are Apollo, Pirate Conrad, Giselle Albrecht, Cinderella Prince, Swan Lake (at Royal Albert Hall) Prince Siegfried, Desiree Prince of “Sleeping Beauty”, “Song of Young People” and so on. During the premiere of Wayne Eigling's “Nutcracker”, he danced the prince.
In 2011, he received the Outstanding Male Performance Award in the classic category, in 2015, he received the Best Male Dancer Award at the Circle National Dance Award, and in 2013 he received the Benoit Award. He appeared as a guest at the Marine Ski Ballet Company and the American Ballet Theater, and played the leading role as a solo for La Bayadale. He has also appeared as a guest on the New National Ballet, the Bavarian State Ballet, the Mihailovsky Theater Ballet and the Cape Town City Ballet.
