Satomi Ogawa (Satomi Ogawa, August 28, 1977 -) is a Japanese vocalist, soprano and opera singer. She is also known as Miss Universe Japan representative in 1999. She graduated from Tokyo University of Music in Osaka Prefecture.
In 1999 she studied at Tokyo College of Music, she became "Miss Universe Japan" and participated in the Miss Universe World Competition held in Trinidad and Tobago in May of that year as a representative of Japan.
Ogawa was the second Japanese delegate as a new generation of "Miss Universe Japan".
While attending graduate school, she got an international student special scholarship, studied abroad in Salzburg Austria and diploma at Mozarteum International Summer Academy.
Since she was in college, she was engaged in presentations, performances and charity activities such as the French Embassy, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Austrian Embassy, Japanese Concert organized by Beirlinger, Tokyo Motor Show, Wacoal, Mikimoto and the German Embassy. She changed voice type from meso soprano to soprano while working to the New National Theater Opera Training Institute.
In 2006, she received a scholarship from the Agency for Cultural Affairs and studied in Milan, Italy.
Currently she is a soprano singer who is performing in Asia and Europe and plays an active role not only in Japan but also in Europe and the United States.
She is the winner of the Turandot International Competition 2009.
