Maiko Takimoto went to Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and High School, graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Art. Then she studied at Stuttgart Music Graduate School and undergraduate with Andorra Dartins.
She got No.3 at the 10th Tokyo Music Competition in the string instrument category, No.3 at Carl-Wendling Chamber Music Competition(Germany). She also participated in Saito Kinen Orchestra, Beppu Argerich Music Festival and others.
She is a Rohm Music Foundation Overseas Dispatch Scholar.
As a soloist, she has worked with Stuttgart chamber music ensembles, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and Concerto. In addition, she serveed as guest chief of the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra.
So far she has studied Viola with Suganuma Jun 2, Kawamoto Yoshiko, Andorra Dartins, studied chamber music with Kiyoshi Okayama, Nobuko Yamasaki, Yasuo Harada.
