Yukihide Takekawa (October 22, 1952) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and writer. He is best known for being the main vocal of Godiego, and he is the composer of most of their single songs.
In 1975, he made his debut as a solo artist with album "Running Romance" of all song English. In 1976, he formed Godiego with Mickey Yoshino who had been working together before, and Takekawa was in charge of composition and vocal. His unique melody left numerous hits such as "Gandhara", "Monkey Magic", "Galaxy Railway 999", "Beautiful Name". After the suspension of Godiego activity in 1985, he established a position as a hit maker by offering and producing music to other artists such as Akina Nakamori, Noriko Sakai, Seiko Matsuda, and Hikari GENJI.
In 1999, Godiego got together again with its original members for limited time. In 2006, Godiego got together again permanently and they have been very active since then.

About this area

Tokyo

Tokyo (Japanese: [toːkjoː] , English /ˈ t oʊ k i . oʊ / ), officially Tokyo Metropolis, is the capital of Japan and one of its 47 prefectures. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府 , Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市 , Tōkyō-shi) .
