A razor is a bladed tool primarily used in the removal of unwanted body hair through the act of shaving. Kinds of razors include straight razors, disposable razor, and electric razors.
While the razor has been in existence since before the Bronze Age (the oldest razor-like object has been dated to 18,000 BC), the most common types of razors in current usage are the safety razor and the electric razor, though other kinds are still in use.
Razors have been identified from many Bronze Age cultures. These were made of bronze or obsidian and were generally oval in shape, with a small tang protruding from one of the short ends.
Various forms of razors were used throughout history, which are different in appearance but similar in use to modern straight razors. In prehistoric times clam shells, shark teeth, and flint were sharpened and used to shave with. Drawings of such blades were found in prehistoric caves. Some tribes still use blades made of flint to this day. Excavations in Egypt have unearthed solid gold and copper razors in tombs dating back to the 4th millennium BC. Several razors as well as other personal hygiene artifacts were recovered from Bronze Age burials in northern Europe and are believed to belong to high status individuals. The Roman historian Livy reported that the razor was introduced in ancient Rome in the 6th century BC. by legendary king Lucius Tarquinius Priscus. Priscus was ahead of his time because razors did not come to general use until a century later.
The first modern straight razor complete with decorated handles and hollow ground blades was constructed in Sheffield, in England, the centre of the cutlery industry, in the 18th and 19th centuries. Benjamin Huntsman produced the first superior hard steel grade, through a special crucible process, suitable for use as blade material in 1740, though it was first rejected in England. Huntsman's process was adopted by the French sometime later; albeit reluctantly at first because of nationalist sentiments. The English manufacturers were even more reluctant than the French to adopt the process and only did so after they saw its success in France. Sheffield steel, a highly polished steel, also known as Sheffield silver steel and famous for its deep gloss finish, is considered a superior quality steel and is still used to this day in France by such manufacturers as Thiers Issard.

It was back in 2015 the Yoshida Yohei Group last featured and whilst there is similarity in sound their music has become even more logarithmic in construct and the listener finds themselves pulling out a slide-rule just to remind themselves they can still remember how to use one whilst calculating the relative distribution of the flute, tenor and alto sax, piano, bass guitar, clarinet, bass clarinet, vocals and drums contained within the album, while always tuned in to the absorbing compositions which draw fractals around the room.

"King Gnu" (Kingneu) is a Japanese quartet mixer band, formed around Daisuke Tsunoda.
The band name is derived from the thought that "Gnu = nu" originated from the spring, joining little by little from the spring, eventually becoming a huge group, and they also wanted to do so. Each member has been influenced by multi-directional music, and since he created new music from it, they call their own music "Tokyo New Mixture Style". Their production of music videos and visual design including logotypes carried out by the creator group "PERIMETRON", which is lauched by Tsunoda.
King Gnu can be seen in and around the Japanese jam session scene. In particular, members of King Gnu were regulars at the jam session, Battle of Study, an event where musicians from all over the country would get together for a biweekly jam. The session was started by Motoharu Fukuda, former saxophonists for the band Soil & Pimp Sessions and currently throwing fire for Speak No Evil. The purpose of the event was for musicians to hone their skills in various styles and genres. Every session, a new theme would be chosen. All of the night’s jam would centered on that theme; for example, jazz, hip hop, funk, soul, and even the music of the Beatles.
King GNU has been getting lots of attention recently. Every bit of it has been well-deserved. Their sound is pop and rock but the songs drip with amazing bass lines and strong steady groove. The composition is unpredictable and complex making them more that your average pop band.
One of the things that is also striking about the band is it’s sense of artistry. The video and images of the band are done is a high style that show their awareness of design and the impact it can have on their audience. Of course, design never ever overshadows the quality of sound.
Up up and up…that is where they are headed and good on them.
Yurufuwa Gang are one of the latest Japanese hip-hop acts to be getting attention from both domestic media and overseas players. As the nation’s rap scene experiences something of a modest boom, the pair of Ryugo Ishida and Sophiee seem poised to be part of it.
Just don’t expect them to offer analysis of the native rap scene.
This detachment from Japan’s hip-hop community helps explain what makes Yurufuwa Gang’s debut album “Mars Ice House” such a radiant listen. Whereas other Japanese rappers lean too hard on imitating their American counterparts, Ishida, Sophiee and producer Automatic revel in their own colorful corner, coming up with Auto-tune-drenched numbers overflowing with glee.
“It has ‘gangster’ in the name and we play around with that, but it is also positive and fun,” Ishida says.

Wednesday Campanella ( Suiyōbi no Campanera) is a Japanese music group formed in 2012 combining musical elements of the EDM, J-Pop, and Hip Hop genres. The trio consists of KOM_I, Kenmochi Hidefumi, and Dir.F.
The name Suiyōbi no Campanella is in reference to their usual rehearsal meeting day of Suiyōbi (Wednesday). Its mixing of Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana was primarily to appeal to the group's collective ego. For their international debut at the SXSW festival in Austin, they adopted the English moniker online, "Wednesday Campanella", which they continued to use in San Francisco for their 2016 J-Pop Summit show and in 2017, at Le Magnifique Society Festival show in Reims, France. KOM_I's name is taken a shortening of her first and last name.
The group uploaded its first songs, "Oz" and "Kūkai", on YouTube in July 2012. Their first CD Suiyōbi no Campanella Demo 1 was sold at Design Festa Tokyo Autumn in November of the same year.
On 11 March 2013, KOM_I held her first live performances alone representing the group. It took place at Shimokitazawa ERA, a nightclub in Tokyo.

Unlike its previous works, all three songs on the EP were produced by a different producers: Kenmochi, OORUTAICHI and OBKR from N.O.R.K. Later that year, the full album Zipangu was released continuing with a gradual shift to a J-pop sound with elements of Electronic dance music.
In March 2016, KOM_I announced that their next album would be released around June at their first American show at SXSW. The mini-album entitled UMA, conceptually based upon unknown mythical animals, was released on 22 June 2016 under Warner Music Japan, their major label debut.

Screeching guitars with intriguingly off-beat tempos, GEZAN is psych-rock and punk fused in its finest. Although GEZAN shows strong similarities with artists such as Omar Rodiguez-Lopez (At The Drive-In, The Mars Volta) and The Refused, they definitely have gone above and beyond to create their own unique style in their entire brand – music, video, style, live shows and more.
However GEZAN isn’t all adrenaline fueled guitar breakdowns and controlled chaos, their song “And Bombers Scab” (which I’m unsure if Google translated correctly, but you can watch the video here) show a side of the band reminiscent of the mid-90s indie/emo scene that sounds similar to The Get Up Kids.
Formed in Osaka but transplanted to Tokyo, Gezan has been through a lot since their 2012 Fuji Rock Rookie a Go Go appearance. Collaborations with Aoba Ichiko, Tenniscoats, LOSTAGE and Togawa Jun all leading up to last October’s release of their 4th album ‘Silence Will Speak’, recorded by none other than Steve Albini. Even Acid Mothers Temple vocalist Kawabata Makoto has said they are his favorite live band in Japan. They certainly aren’t rookies anymore.
Gezan feels a little like a sonic slot machine, you’re never quite sure what combination of rhythms and sounds will unroll next. Frequently you hit the jackpot. They are at once both full of catchy toe-tapping sensibility and uniquely sharp and jagged edges, ready to throw you a middle finger curveball as soon as you think you have figured out how to comfortably fit them into a genre. Punk, pop, screamo, industrial, hardcore and rap all thrown into a blender. Singer Mahito the People’s vocals are sharp and piercing, just on the right side of being painful. These things come through quite clearly on their recordings, especially on ‘Silence Will Speak’. Dig deeper into their back catalogue if you want to see the weird places the band’s current sound evolved from.
However, Gezan can only really be understood in the context of a live performance. The band’s blend of playfulness and earnesty. Mahito’s cocky swagger and looks, and especially his feral unpredictability. Much like the musical compositions themselves, things are liable to go from mockingly smug to legitimately fierce and rabid in the blink of an eye.
The Korean alphabet, known as Hangul ( HAHN -gool; from Korean hangeul 한글 [ha(ː)n.ɡɯl] ) or Chosŏn'gŭl, has been used to write the Korean language since its creation in the 15th century by Sejong the Great.
It is the official writing system of North Korea and South Korea. It is a co-official writing system in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture and Changbai Korean Autonomous County in Jilin Province, China. It is sometimes used to write the Cia-Cia language spoken near the town of Bau-Bau, Indonesia.
The alphabet consists of 14 consonants and 10 vowels. Its letters are grouped into syllabic blocks, vertically and horizontally. For example, the Korean word for "honeybee" is written 꿀벌 , not ㄲㅜㄹㅂㅓㄹ . As it combines the features of alphabetic and syllabic writing systems, it has been described as an "alphabetic syllabary" by some linguists. As in traditional Chinese writing, Korean texts were traditionally written top to bottom, right to left, and are occasionally still written this way for stylistic purposes. Today, it is typically written from left to right with spaces between words and western-style punctuation.
Some linguists consider it the most logical writing system in the world, partly because the shapes of its consonants mimic the shapes of the speaker's mouth when pronouncing each consonant.
The Korean alphabet was originally called Hunminjeongeum (훈민정음 ), after the document that introduced the script to the Korean people in 1446.
North Koreans call the Korean alphabet Chosŏn'gŭl (조선글 ) after Chosŏn, the North Korean name for Korea. The McCune–Reischauer system is used there.
Today, South Koreans call the Korean alphabet hangeul (한글 ), a name coined by Korean linguist Ju Si-gyeong in 1912. The name combines the ancient Korean word han (한 ), meaning "great", and geul (글 ), meaning "script". The word han is used to refer to Korea in general, so the name also means "Korean script". It has been romanized in multiple ways:
Analogfish (アナログフィッシュ) is a Japanese rock band formed in 1999.

of Montreal is an American indie pop band from Athens, Georgia. It was founded by frontman Kevin Barnes in 1996, named after a failed romance between Barnes and a woman "of Montreal." The band is identified as part of the Elephant 6 collective. Throughout its existence, of Montreal's musical style has evolved considerably and drawn inspiration from 1960s psychedelic pop acts.
Kevin Barnes founded of Montreal, allegedly naming it for a failed romance with a woman from Montreal, Quebec. Barnes was the only member of the group prior to his relocation to Athens, Georgia. There, he met Derek Almstead (Circulatory System, M Coast, Elf Power) and Bryan Poole, who also performs as The Late B.P. Helium. Together, they recorded their debut album, Cherry Peel, and subsequent releases The Bird Who Ate the Rabbit's Flower and The Bedside Drama: A Petite Tragedy.
After production on The Gay Parade, the band's third album, began in 1998, Poole left the band to focus on his duties with Elf Power, another Elephant Six band. Barnes then recruited James Husband and Dottie Alexander, who had been performing together as Lightning Bug vs. Firefly. Derek moved from drums to bass, and Marshmallow Coast's Andy Gonzales joined soon after. Prior to the release of The Gay Parade in 1999, of Montreal released a number of singles and a re-release of The Bird Who Continues to Eat the Rabbit's Flower.
Following the release of The Gay Parade, the band signed with Kindercore Records, and in 2001, the concept album Coquelicot Asleep in the Poppies: A Variety of Whimsical Verse was released.[citation needed]
Kindercore Records would fold shortly after the release of Aldhils Arboretum, and Andy and Derek left the band. Barnes took to writing and performing their 2004 album Satanic Panic in the Attic mostly by himself. It was released by Polyvinyl Records.
In 2005 The Sunlandic Twins was released.
Kevin Barnes recorded most of the band's 2007 release, Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?, by himself while living in Norway and Athens, Georgia. Barnes also released a companion CD to Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? called Icons, Abstract Thee. In 2007, Kevin Barnes performed five songs nude during a performance in Las Vegas. In Paris, they did a Take-Away Show acoustic video session shot by Vincent Moon.
of Montreal's next album, Skeletal Lamping, was released on October 21, 2008. It was released in ten different formats, including conventional CD and vinyl, as well as T-shirts, button sets, wall decals, tote bags, and a paper lantern, the latter formats complete with a digital download code for the album. All items for the collection were designed by The Bee With Wheels (David Barnes) and Gemini Tactics (Nina Barnes). In an essay addressing the concept behind the album's release, Kevin Barnes stated, "We feel that there's no reason to produce another object that just sits on a shelf. We only want to produce objects that have a function and that can be treasured for their singularness." In an interview with NPR, Kevin Barnes revealed that the concept of the CD may be going the way of the 8-track in favor of MP3 downloads. David Barnes joked that fans would buy the album via MP3 download and the version that comes with an amazing sandwich.
In August 2009, the band contributed a T-shirt design, which was printed and sold through the Yellow Bird Project website to raise money for the St. Judes Children's Hospital. The shirt was designed by David Barnes.
By means of a Facebook post and a Kevin Barnes interview conducted by Stereogum.com, of Montreal's album Aureate Gloom was announced. The record was influenced by "the mid-to-late 1970s music scene in New York," including bands such as Talking Heads and Led Zeppelin. The album captures Barnes' emotions borne from his separation from his wife of 11 years and its aftermath. Barnes described the album as being "all over the place musically", lending to its reflection of his mindset during the time of its creation. The album was released March 3, 2015.
In August 2016, of Montreal released Innocence Reaches, which incorporated new, EDM-inspired sounds, as well as the progressive rock sounds of the previous two albums. For the tour following the album's release, bassist Davey Pierce returned to the band, replacing Bob Parins.
On January 13, 2017, of Montreal released a new EP by surprise, entitled Rune Husk. On March 9, 2018, the album White Is Relic/Irrealis Mood was released on Polyvinyl, with singer Barnes explaining that the sound was influenced by "extended dance mixes" from the 1980s.

Most of the original series ensemble cast have reprised their roles on Fuller House, either as regular cast members or in guest appearances, with the exception of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who alternated the role of Michelle Tanner in Full House.
Netflix ordered an initial thirteen episodes which were released on February 26, 2016, worldwide. Tempalay is a Japanese psychedelic pop band formed in June 2014 in Tokyo, Saitama, completed by Ryoto Ohara (Gt&Vo), Yuya Takeuchi (Ba) , and Natsuki Fujimoto(Dr).
They made it to ROOKIE A GO-GO at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’15 and made their debut from P-VINE with an EP titled “Instant Hawaii”.
When it comes to Tempalay’s live performance, however, the musicianship at the Marz gig wasn’t quite there yet. The group has won over fans with chillwave-inspired, cassette-quality recordings, but its arsenal of slow, repetitive songs aren’t quite entertaining enough for an hour-long set.
It is surprising, then, that after only a few months of preparation, Tempalay has managed to come up with a whole album, titled “From Japan.” The LP carries on the mellow, relaxing mood of “Instant Hawaii,” particularly in the tracks “Have a Nice Days Club” and “Good Time.” But the urban vibe of “This is Tokyo” and lead single “Made in Japan” sound reminiscent of recent “city pop” breakout Cero, except that where Cero’s foundation is a sophisticated knowledge of roots music and its productions are overblown, Tempalay remains firmly in modern indie by keeping its songs simple and organic.
The one track that stands out — and also sticks out — is “Oh.My.God!!” which comes after the opener. Featuring tight grooves and faster drums, with guitar-riff interludes that are accompanied by jarring percussion and female backup vocals, it’s the most danceable and exciting moment of “From Japan.”

In 2013, she signed a distribution deal with Sire Records to release her material in the United States.
Pamyu Pamyu was born on January 29, 1993 in Tokyo, Japan. Throughout most of her childhood life, she was raised in a traditional strict household, where her parents frequently set early curfews and limited her cell phone access. Pamyu Pamyu's mother was very critical of her fashion sense to the point where she would have to leave the house dressed normally and change into Harajuku-style clothing inside a public restroom. Pamyu Pamyu often returned home and found that her mother had disposed of her fashion accessories, which led to further quarrels. She writes in her autobiography, Oh! My God!! Harajuku Girl, that her father was more supportive of her, although they had their fair share of quarrels as well.[8] Pamyu Pamyu writes in her autobiography that in her childhood, she took dance lessons. Later, different sources report that, around the age of 12, she appeared in a video series called Imouto Club (いもうと倶楽部), and in another titled Kasumi, in which she was filmed posing while wearing a school-issued bathing suit among other things.
As a musical entertainer, Pamyu Pamyu has been recognized as the "J-Pop Princess" or "Harajuku Pop Princess".
Her fashion sense is the subject of much media coverage. She is often called "Japan's Lady Gaga", citing her similar use of fashion to attract attention. According to a review of her London concert, a press release stated "[Kyary] is not supposed to be musically talented. She is more about image featuring her creative fashion sense as one of the main subjects of her career, not just the music." She has recently cited American singers Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga as her inspirations in both music and fashion. Pamyu Pamyu's fashion sense has also been criticized. While being interviewed on TV Asahi's Music Station, she was wearing an oversized ribbon on her head, which blocked Japanese boy band Kanjani8 from being seen on camera, angering fans of Kanjani8 by her outrageous fashion style. Pamyu Pamyu later stated that when she is being interviewed on television, she will restrict what she is wearing. Her fans, however, defended her wearing the outfit.[98] Pamyu Pamyu cites "kawaii" (meaning "cute" or "cuteness") as her background style.
Her international success has also received much attention. During an interview with The Fader, Pamyu Pamyu was asked if she meant to make music outside of Asia, where she responded; "At first, I didn't think about global markets at all. But even in Japanese, my lyrics don’t make any sense and have a kind of mystery, like on "Pon Pon Pon" and "Tsukematsukeru". I can feel that what I'm doing in Japanese is catchy to global audiences anyway." Keiichi Ishizaka, chairman and chief executive officer of Warner Music Japan Inc, commenting on Pamyu Pamyu's image to The Japan Times, says "[Kyary] is a person who came directly out of Tokyo's Harajuku culture, and there is a growing international interest in Japan's kawaii culture,". Many critics and publications noted the increase of popularity within the Japanese popular culture outside Japan, such as its fashion and animation, and she is serving as its global ambassador. Ishizaka believed that with the advent of the Internet, there is no difference in time and distance among countries anymore."
Since her debut in 2011, her music has been exclusively produced by musician Yasutaka Nakata of electronic music duo Capsule, which also produces music for girl group Perfume and once for singers like Meg, Ami Suzuki, and SMAP. Despite this collaboration with technopop artists and charting on electronic music charts, most media outlets do not classify Pamyu Pamyu under the genre due to Nakata's musical style for her, which is different from his other produced acts.
"I love grotesque things. My concept is scary things that become traumatic with their cuteness. There are so many 'just cute' things in the world, so I add grotesque, scary and even shocking materials like eyeballs and brains to balance out the cuteness. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu; interview with The Fader"
Although Pamyu Pamyu knows some English, she is not completely fluent and often has an interpreter while overseas, and prefers to speak in Japanese for interviews. As of 2014, she has been studying English and spoke to the audience in brief bits of English during her concerts in London, United States and Australia, and on the NHK World show Moshimoshi Nippon. When asked in an interview in 2016 about Pamyu Pamyu's progress of studying English, she stated, "Not very good, not at all".
She dated Sekai no Owari lead vocalist Satoshi Fukase from June 2013 until August 15, 2015. Pamyu Pamyu is friends with members of Perfume, as they both share times during recording with their producer Yasutaka Nakata. In a July 2014 live interview with Space Shower TV, she stated that she frequently communicates with the members either through Line or e-mail. On the other hand, the members of Perfume have explicitly stated that they also listen to Pamyu Pamyu's songs, specifically member Ayaka Nishiwaki, who admitted that some of her songs sound identical to theirs but still enjoys listening as by crediting Nakata working with other artists.
